It has definitely been awhile since the last time I posted but I am trying so hard to stay consistent with my post. I’ve had a bit of writers block lately, but earlier I was speaking to a friend about learning how to trust again. Several months ago I got out of a very toxic marriage where there was no trust on either sides of the spectrum. Over the last couple of months I’ve had to deconstruct the perception I’ve built of men from past experiences. When the trust is broken by several people not just one you start to believe that everyone is the same. Fortunately for us not everyone is the same, we may have similar perspectives or similar interest but we are not the same as everyone else. We all deserve to be trusted or at least have a clean slate to build trust on when you move on to another relationship or friendship. It’s never easy to do that either because the new person in your life might raise a couple of flags but you always have to give them the benefit of the doubt until you see it for yourself. But with that being said always and I mean ALWAYS trust your instincts. That little voice in the back of your head may be giving you important information that your heart may be hiding from you. A new relationship should be built on new foundations on new memories on new trust. If you continue to build new relationships on old foundations it will continue to crumble. Obviously the foundation wasn’t stable enough in the previous relationship so set boundaries and limitations so you can build that trust with the new person in your life. Not to come off cruel or standoff-ish but to protect your heart. Be open about these boundaries and limitations so there is no miscommunication and no room for wandering thoughts because the person your with may have the same hurt or not be easy trusting either. So I always encourage openness and if they accept your past and accept who you are and vice versa then that’s a good thing. Take one day at a time when it comes to rebuilding trust just like Rome it wasnt built-in one day.
Love you all, and enjoy the rest of your week
